Michael Caruso, age 84, of Staten Island, NY, passed away on Monday, May 1st, 2023 after almost a two-year fight with pancreatic cancer.
Michael Caruso was born on June 28th, 1938 to Catherine (Katie) and Robert. After Mike graduated from Tilden High School in 1957, he worked in construction until he joined the NYPD and became a police officer.
Mike met his wife Mary in high school and the two sweethearts were soon married after school. Mike and Mary then had three children, Michael, Daniel, and Lisa.
In 1983, Mike retired and spent his time with his family and traveling. His hobbies were muscle cars and participating in car shows with his 1967 Corvette. He also enjoyed going to the Italian American Club to play poker and being with his friends.
Mike was predeceased by his wife Mary and parents Catherine and Robert. He was survived by his three children, twelve grandchildren, and soon-to-be two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM on Friday at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Rd Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at The John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd. (at Eltingville Station), Staten Island, New York.
