Michael "Mike" Casey, 85, of Annapolis, MD, passed peacefully into heaven and the loving arms of his late wife of 64 years, Bronna Casey (née Ferris), on September 10, 2025, in Calvert County, MD.

Born July 2, 1940, in Washington, D.C., to the late Clarence P. and Louise Casey (née Nelson), Mike spent his early years between Washington, D.C., and the Bronx, NY. He attended Charlotte Hall Military Academy in Charlotte Hall, MD, and completed his education at the U.S. Senate Page School on Capitol Hill in 1958. As an elite athlete in school, he starred and lettered in baseball, football, and lacrosse. In his mid-years, he taught his sons to play and coached their teams. An excellent dancer, he was in high demand from diplomat daughters for Embassy Row balls during his teen years, and when he met Bronna, they never missed a school dance.

Proud of his heritage as part Native American (Rappahannock Tribe), part Irish, and fully Christian, Mike lived his life completely dedicated to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He carried a deep loyalty, an unwavering sense of right and wrong, and a relentless determination throughout his life.

In his early career, Mike worked with Owen B. Knight and the Northwestern Contracting survey teams, helping survey farmland that would later become the runways and terminals at Dulles International Airport in Reston, VA. He went on to serve as General Manager of Belair Engineering in Bowie, MD, for 20 years, where he and Bronna raised their family during the 1970s and 1980s. Later, fulfilling a lifelong dream, the couple moved to Myrtle Beach, SC, where they spent nearly a decade enjoying morning walks by the ocean and breathtaking sunsets before returning to Annapolis in 2015.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Bronna, his son Adam Casey, his son-in-law Craig Back, his daughter-in-law Jennifer Zimmerman, and his sister, Barbara Demarest (née Casey). He is survived by his children Brian (Karen) Casey, Colleen Back, and Brendan (Dianna) Casey; two lifelong friends, Sharon McMichael and Fred Shelton; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren-with more on the way.

Known for his piercing blue eyes and his inventive storytelling, Mike leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, laughter, and family tales that will echo across three generations. His family and friends will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
