Michael Cerato Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Raffeo - DiCecco Memorial Home, Inc. on Aug. 1, 2022.
Michael A. Cerato, age 81, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on July 31, 2022 following a lengthy battle with leukemia.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Josephine Cerato and his sister, Marialana Sirianni. He was the loving husband of 57 years to Donna Williams Cerato with whom he shared many memorable adventures; beloved father to Michelle Booth (Bryan), Melissa Faw (Dave), Marisa Neeson (Tom), and Marcia DiGregorio (Marc); best grandfather and fishing buddy to Alex, Matthew, Michael, Meredith, Andrew, Molly, Max, Marc, Jacob, and Megan; bonus father to Michael Capaldo and Todd Ochnich; brother to Martin Cerato.
Mike graduated from the University of Scranton and worked for the ACDelco division of General Motors, retiring in 2000. His sales ability and work ethic were recognized with many awards throughout his career including #1 salesman in the country several times.
Mike was a longtime member of Lords Valley Sportsman Club in Pike County, Stony Creek Anglers, and the NRA. He was passionate about being in the woods hunting and fishing and discovered that it was a great place to contemplate and pray. He passed his love of the outdoors onto his children, grandchildren, and many others. He achieved the Triple Trophy three times harvesting a buck, a bear, and a gobbler.
Mike will be missed greatly by all who knew him and will be remembered fondly for his love of family, good conversation, a few cold drinks, and for his entertaining riddles, jokes and stories, little bit of sarcasm, and his two favorite quotes: "there's always a better way to do it" and "nothing to it, but to do it".
Relatives and friends invited to his viewing on Thursday August 4th from 9:30 - 10:30 AM followed by Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at St. Paul's Catholic Church 2007 New Hope Street Norristown, PA 19401.
In lieu of flowers, Mike has requested donations in his memory be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by visiting lls.org OR calling 888-557-7177

Mr. "C" was a fantastic person to know and learn from. I consider him one of the great mentors I have had in my life. He and my Uncle Rick Hoover taught me to fish at a young age. I will be forever grateful for him taking the time to teach me technique and discuss what is working for the fish to always improve. I will always cherish those talks and moments even as an adult. I enjoyed bear hunting with him in Maine and all the great stories an 11hour car ride up and back to Maine can pack in. He will be sorely missed!
