Michael David Chatlos, age 55, passed away on January 19, 2026, after a long battle with a neurological disease of autoimmune encephalitis.
Mike was born and raised in North Olmsted, Ohio. After attending St. Edward High School, he received his B.S. in International Business at Bowling Green State University, where he met his beloved wife and best friend, Toni. Together, they settled in Liberty Township, Ohio, where Mike built a life rooted in love, laughter, and endless devotion to his family. He worked in sales for 3M for 25 years, a career he approached with dedication, professionalism, and pride.
If you knew Mike, you loved him. He was known for his humor, goofiness, and genuine kindness. He had an easy way of making people laugh and feel at ease, often using humor to brighten even the hardest moments.
You would most often find Mike sharing his happy place with family and friends at Lake Waynoka. His best impacts were made in the conversations shared around the fire, on the boat, or around the grill. He welcomed everyone who entered the door, showering them with selfless love, charisma, and the infamous Amish donuts.
One of Mike’s most unforgettable traits was his love of dancing. He danced like no one was watching—even though everyone definitely was! Whether at a wedding, party, or family gathering, Mike’s confidence, rhythm, and joy filled the room, leaving smiles and laughter in his wake. It was impossible not to smile when Mike danced, and these moments will be cherished forever.
Above all else, Mike was a devoted husband and father. His love for Toni was constant, visible, and, along with the love of his children, was the defining joy of his life. His presence brought warmth, laughter, and comfort into their lives every day.
Mike is survived by his wife of 30 years, Toni; his children, Taylor, Connor, and Bradley; his father, Kenneth Chatlos; and his sister, Theresa Oppedisano (Lou), his sisters-in-law, Kim Senn (Mike) and Jaime Foyle (Scott); and his nieces and nephews, Reagan, Jordan, Michael, Kian, Ryland, and Callyn. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sally Chatlos, father-in-law Richard Hein, and mother-in-law Maureen Hein.
Mike’s legacy lives on through the laughter he inspired, the kindness he showed, the music he danced to, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
