Michael Edward Cheek

Mike passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, at the age of 69. Mike was Born on August 1, 1955, in Bedford County Virginia where he grew up on a farm and developed a love for adventuring. Mike's adventurous spirit led him to traveled all over the world visiting: Germany Africa Mexico Jamaica Switzerland
He Married Doris Cheek and raised their children together. Mike loved cooking, he was the family cook for every holiday. He was a wonderful husband, His daughters were honored to have him as a dad. He was a loving grandfather who enjoyed mowing the lawn on the tractor with his boys. He loved to read. He loved history. He was selfless, he believed in giving people many chances. He had a big heart. He was a leader. He was someone who could talk to anyone. He loved antiques. He loved fishing.
He was the proud owner of "Woodnstone", where his work ethic and leadership left a lasting impact. Mike took pride in his ability to work alongside the young guys in the field, he never shied away from hard work and he was proud of the work he did. His legacy will carry on.
His wisdom, laughter, and quiet strength will echo in the hearts of those who knew him. Michael's family will miss him dearly. His love, compassion, and grace will live on in the many lives he changed simply by being who he was. In a world that can sometimes feel unkind, Michael was a reminder that goodness still exists. His life was a gift to us all, and though he may be gone from our sight, he will never be gone from our hearts.
There will be a "Celebration of Life Service" to honor Mike's legacy on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 3:00pm, in the Chapel at Triad Cremation & Funeral Service in Greensboro. The Family will have Visitation with Friends and Family starting at 2:00, in the Chapel also. Please come as you are, casual attire is welcome and encouraged.
