He leaves to cherish fond memories: his wife, Tara Jones Cherry; three daughters, Jaionna Freeman, Tamia Cherry, both of Raleigh, NC and Jaquila Cherry of Ahoskie, NC; four sons, Malik Cherry, Abmir Cherry, Joanta "Man Man" Cherry Montae' Hayes Cherry all of Raleigh, NC; his parents Charlie and Beverly Harrell Cherry of Colerain, NC; two sisters, Kathy Cherry Brown of Hampton, VA and Wilhelmina Harrell of Powellsville, NC; four brothers, Charlie Harrell of Raleigh, NC, Calvin Cherry (LaKeisha) of Kelford, NC Terrance Cherry (Tyra) of Colerain, NC and Nathaniel Cherry (Tandra) of Rich Square, NC; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, bonus siblings and many friends.
