Michael Christen

EAST CARBON- Michael Lee Christen, age 84, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, September 12, 2025 at his home in East Carbon, Utah.

Michael was born in Provo, Utah on July 26, 1941 to Ernest and Helen Benson Christen.

Michael married the love of his life, LaRita Grace Wyman on March 27, 1959 in Provo, Utah.

He was a devoted father and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and driving in the desert; as well as sketching and singing. But most of all he valued his family time. Spending time with his family at dinner was a very important time and part of his life.

With the wind blowing from the south and the sun rising from the east, in the middle of some of the most beautiful rock formations you will see our loving father right in the middle of it all. We know dad is where he wants to be; he has it all in the palm of his hands.

Survived by his wife, LaRita Grace Christen of 65 years; his daughters, Christina Kallbacka and Rita Jacobson Christen; his sons, Michael Christen and Tony Christen; ten grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Carolyn, Glen, and David.

Preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Helen Benson Christen; sister, Kathy; and brothers, Tommy, Roy, and Donald.

May he always walk each day to the west following each sunset.

Celebration of Life, Saturday, September 20, 2025, 2:00 p.m., at the Union Hall in Sunnyside. Friends are welcome to join the family as they celebrate Michael's life.
