Michael Chrzanowski Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Michael "Punkin" Chrzanowski Jr, 76 of Erie Pa., passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 13th, 2025. He was born February 28th, 1949, in Syracuse New York to the late Michael Chrzanowski and Helen Finchio Chrzanowski.
He retired from Local Laborers 603 where he held an officer's title of Sergeant at Arms. Michael also owned and operated June Street Auto and worked for Jack Norman Construction.
Michael was an avid hunter and Harley Davidson enthusiast and had countless friends that shared his passion. He was an original Director of The Lower Eastside Federation starting in 1976 through 1992. He made many lifelong friends within the organization that went on to form The Lower Eastside Sports Center for underprivileged kids within the Erie community.
Along with his Harley Davidson motorcycles, he also had a passion for fast cars. He was the proud owner of a 1967 Coronet and served on the Pitt Crew for the racing boat "The Gold Rush" throughout the 90's. You could always find Mike in his garage building or tuning up something that was fast or meticulously polishing his work tools. Friends knew to come to the garage when they stopped to visit, because that is where you would find him.
Later in life, Michael enjoyed spending time in Florida with his best friend Smitty. He would love to reminisce and always had a great story about spending time at Camp Dead or Alive with his many friends and family, either hunting or having a party, the many years with the Lower Eastside Federation and dredging with his late father. He also enjoyed taking his dog Kilo to the South Pier fishing or just relaxing.
As Michael aged, he loved to brag about his "A" team that took care of him which consisted of his daughter Tracee and her friend Mary. They kept him in line as much as possible, took care of his home, finances, and provided an endless supply of home cooking and many sweets, which he loved.
In addition to his late parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Laurie Chrzanowski, and a son Cole Chrzanowski.
Michael is survived by his daughter Tracee Chrzanowski of Erie, Grandchildren Mark Ebish, Dakota Caldwell and Jack Hinkle, his partner Beverly Wasielewski, and his loyal companion Kilo and many family and friends.
Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday November 22nd, 2025, at Brugger Funeral Home, 845 E 38th Street, Erie Pa., from 3-6 until the time of service with Pastor David Sherwood.
We didn't break the rules, we made them. May your final ride be easy.
