Michael James Chvala

Michael James Chvala (Mike), 67 of Lincoln, Maine, passed unexpectedly on Feb. 18, 2025. The son of James and Rosalia Chvala, Mike was born in Muskegon, Michigan in 1957.
He went to Muskegon Catholic Central school and graduated from Mona Shores high school in 1976. During Mike's career, he worked as a copier technician, car salesman, welder, and fabricator, until his retirement in 2013.
He is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie A. Dyer Chvala. They were married in Leesburg, Virginia in 1994 and resided there for 28 years, until moving to Stephanie's hometown in Lincoln, Maine. Mike was an avid fisherman, loved skiing, riding his Harley, and his ATV.
He was a member of the PORR, Penobscot Off-Road Riders Club, where he made many close friends. The group would ride to Lee, Springfield, Howland, and Millinocket on day trips. Mike helped build the club a shed, repair bridges, cut trees for the trails, and do whatever else needed to be done. He will be missed by the club and his community. Mike was also a Lifetime member of the Harley Owner's Group. Mike had a big heart when it came to his 5 cats. Three were rescues and two were strays. Vinny, Lincoln, Max, Ringo, and Charlie miss him already.
Mike was predeceased by his parents, James and Rosalia Chvala, and his younger brother, Thomas. He is survived by his 6 siblings: Bill Chvala of Louisiana, Robert and Eileen Chvala of N. Fort Myers's, Fl., Karen and Roy Borgeson of White Lake, Michigan, Sharie Gourieaux of Canton, Michigan, Richard and Suzanne Chvala of Richmond, Virginia, and Jeanette and Dave Pohl of Huntsville, Alabama. Mike has many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mike's wishes were to be cremated. A gathering will be held this summer to celebrate his life. Date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, family and friends may donate to the Penobscot Humane Society PO Box 73 Lincoln, Maine 04457. www.acadiacremation.com
