Michael Clark, 76, of Winterset, passed away at the Iowa VA Hospital in Des Moines on Thursday, May 2, 2024.
Mike was born on April 20, 1948 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mike proudly served his country in the Army. He worked as an appliance repair technician for many years, first at his own business, Alco Appliance, then went on to work at Adel Winterset TV & Appliance. He married Sandra Lynn Newby in Mt. Ayr, Iowa on October 24, 1978.
Mike enjoyed working in the garage, riding motorcycles and cars, and fishing. He always said he had the fastest car in Sarasota County and was a nomadic motorcycle enthusiast. In his younger years, he raced motorcycles and stock cars. He liked to garden with his wife, Sandy and was always proud to be a father to 4 girls, Michelle, Mindy, Melissa and Kimmie.
Mike is survived by his daughters, Melissa and Kimmie Clark; cousin, Buddy Clark; fur grandchildren, Theo Joe and Charlie Mae; and his many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy; daughters, Michelle and Mindy Clark; and fur grandchild, Tinker Bell.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. prior. Burial of cremated remains will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Van Meter American Legion.
