Michael P. Claudel passed away on Nov. 14, 2024 at his home; he was 59 years of age. Mike was the beloved son of Paul C. Claudel Jr. and Marion Lagarde Claudel and the grandson of the late Paul C. Claudel Sr. and Verlin White Claudel and the late Theofield Lagarde and Juliette Boudreaux Lagarde. He was the loving father of Chelsee Claudel Materne (Frank) and Vincent Claudel whom he adored and bragged about constantly. Michael is survived by his loving sisters Kelly Claudel Morgan, Jeanne Claudel Simoneaux and his brother Scott P. Claudel. Mike was born in New Orleans, raised in Terrytown and attended Christ the King Catholic Elementary school. He boarded at St. Paul’s in Covington and was a star defensive tackle on the football team. A graduate of West Jefferson High, Mike spent most of his life working in the Construction Industry and was a huge fan of the N. O. Saints and the LSU Fighting Tigers. On game day you could hear Mike yelling for the Saints and the Tigers a block away. Cooking, BBQing and shucking oysters at Mom and Dads was another great love of Mike’s. He loved to party and he had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to honor Michael by attending the Visitation at Christ the King Catholic Church, 535 Deerfield Road, Terrytown, La on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 10 am to Noon with the Funeral Mass at 12 Noon. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna. MOTHE FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family during this difficult time.
