KAREN ELIZABETH LECOMPTE PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2025, AT OCHSNER HOSPITAL AT THE AGE OF 75.
KAREN WAS BORN ON SEPTEMBER 11, 1950, IN MARRERO, LA. SHE RETIRED FROM THE FIFTH DISTRICT SAVINGS BANK AFTER 40 YEARS OF SERVICE STARTING AS A TELLER THEN TO BRANCH MANAGER AND EVENTUALLY ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT OF THE BANK.
SHE IS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER PARENTS, HORACE AND MYRLENE FIRMIN LECOMPTE, BROTHER JODY LECOMPTE AND SISTER SANDRA LECOMPTE CAMBRE. SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER NIECE DEANNA BARRILLEAUX AND HER CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN, HER NEPHEW DWAYNE CAMBRE, HER COUSIN JEFFREY RICHARD, AND HER TWO GODSONS KEVIN AND KOLLON ROACH. SHE WILL BE SADLY MISSED BY CINDY LEO, HER DEAREST FRIEND AND CAREGIVER, AS WELL AS HER MANY FRIENDS AND CO-WORKERS.
THE FAMILY WOULD LIKE TO SINCERELY THANK THE NURSES AND DOCTORS IN THE ICU AT OCHSNER HOSPITAL FOR THE CARE THEY GAVE HER.
FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND A FUNERAL MASS ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2025, AT 11:00 AT OUR HARVEY LOCATION, 2100 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY, HARVEY, LA. VISITATION STARTS AT 9:30 AM AND CONTINUES UNTIL THE SERVICE TIME. INTERMENT WILL BE AT WESTLAWN MEMORIAL PARK, 1225 WHITNEY AVE, GRETNA, LA.
IN LIEU OF FLOWERS PLEASE MAKE A DONATION TO EITHER THE National Kidney Foundation OR THE AMERICAN HEART FUND.
