Alvin Joseph LeCompte Sr.

Alvin Joseph LeCompte Sr., age 89, passed away at 3:15 P.M. on January 29, 2026, at his home, surrounded by family and friends. He was a native and resident of Chauvin, LA.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, 635 Bayou Blue Road Houma, LA 70364 on Saturday, February 7, 2026, beginning at 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M., with cremation to follow.

He began at a very young age as a carpenter and spent his life perfecting his craft. He was proud to say that he had built over 200 homes in his lifetime. He also loved to bowl, hunt, and fish. He always enjoyed specialty wood-working projects and gifting his finished products to his family members, which will now be cherished mementos. He will be loved and missed dearly by his family and friends.

Alvin is survived by his sons, Alvin "Al" (Penny) LeCompte Jr. and John M. (Amanda) LeCompte; daughters, Katherine "Kathy" (Jerome)Bourg, Mary Susan "Susie" Folse, and Patty (Cliff) Circe; sister Della Marie; sister-in-law Barbara LeCompte; grandchildren, Christopher (Hayley) Circe, Ashley Hayes, Heather (Jacob) Clements, Roman LeCompte (fiancé Katrina), Bryan (Tristan) LeCompte, Anthony (Lauren) Folse, Andrew Folse, and Taylor LeCompte (partner Josh); great-grandchildren, Matthew, Aubree, Madelyn, Rosalie, Riley, Bowen, and Brynlee; and godchildren, Sandra Deroche, Jackie Marie, Jenny Foreman, and Deborah Watkins. He is also survived by Jacob Theriot and Kenny Theriot, who were like sons to him, his best friend, Darrel Billiot, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Alvin was preceded in death by his wife of almost 70 years, Bobbie Pellegrin LeCompte; parents, Gracien and Amelia LeCompte; father and mother in-law, Easton and Blanche Pellegrin; son-in-law, Ronald "Ronnie" Folse; two grandbaby Bourgs, one grandbaby Circe, and one great-grandbaby LeCompte; brothers, Delvin (twin), Lloyd, and Huey LeCompte; sisters, Mary Leathers and Ouida Babin
