It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Michael W. Colbath, at the age of 67, the adored husband of Deborah (Kreuscher) Colbath. Michael passed away surrounded by those he loved most on Wednesday, October 29th, 2025. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late William (Neal) and Bernice (Bouchard) Colbath. Michael was a 30-year employee with Electrical Wholesalers until his retirement in 2023.
Michael was known for his lovable, goofy nature, and gentle soul. He could bring a smile to anyone's day. He was a family man who loved fiercely. Michael was a humble, yet talented bass player and gifted musician. Besides composing music, Michael played with the band Christine Ohlman and Rebel Montez for over 35 years.
He is survived by his wife, Deb; son, Robert Doughty; daughters, Sara Forrest, Caitlin (and son-in-law Dylan) Dexter and Sarah (and son-in-law James) Hann; adoring granddaughters, Thea and Alexia Hann; his brothers, Mark, Brian and Steven Colbath, and their wives; and his nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many dear friends, his favorite cat, Harry, and his musician family.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family
