Michael James Collazo

Michael James Collazo, 57, of Ocala, Florida passed away on November 25, 2025 in Ocala, Florida.

Michael was born in Manhattan, New York to Miguel and Santia Collazo on September 23, 1968. He attended Cathedral Preparatory and graduated in 1986. He went on to earn a Masters degree in Secondary Education from Stonybrook University. Michael worked as a high school social studies teacher for twenty five years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling, dining, movies, fishing, and visiting museums. Michael served on the board of directors for the New York State Social Studies Council as President and the Florida Social Studies Council as Event Coordinator in his retirement years. Michael was a respectable man that made a positive impact in the lives of everyone that knew him. He will be deeply missed in the community.

Beloved Michael is survived by his mother, Santia, brother, Joseph, sister, Maria and her husband Luis, five nieces, two nephews, and their children, wife, Denise and two children Julianna and Michael. He is preceded in death by his father Miguel.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering and Service will be held at Roberts of Ocala East Chapel, 2739 SE Maricamp Road, Ocala, Fl 34471 on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. The Celebration of Life Service will start at 11:00 AM. There will be a reception immediately following at 12:00pm. All family and friends are welcome.
