Michael D. Conner, 64, of Jonesboro, passed away at 4:47 pm on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on September 14, 1960, to Larry Conner and Connie (Kelley) Burke.
Michael graduated from Tri Valley High School in Ohio and earned his doctorate degree from Ohio University. He was a lawyer for many years with Spitzer Herriman Stephenson Holderead Conner & Persinger LLP. He was a dedicated member of Unity Christian Church, where he served as an elder. He was also involved with the Walnut Creek Conservation Club for many years.
Michael had a passion for classic cars, working in his garage, watching science fiction movies, and writing poetry. He was active in civic theatre and enjoyed playing chess. Above all, Michael cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandson. He was also a devoted dog lover.
Michael is survived by his wife, Lucy Conner of Jonesboro; his step-father, Larry Burke; his step-mother, Jean Conner; his daughter, Michaela (Jeff) Gold of LaGrange, IL; his grandson, Zion Gold; his sister, Candice Conner of Marion; his nephew, Caleb Conner; his beloved dogs, Smidget, Hobbi, Winnie, and Jordi; and many friends and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Conner; his mother, Connie C. Burke; and his brother, Kelly Conner.
The family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Unity Christian Church, 140 N. Pennsylvania St., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Michael's life will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Kevin Greenlee officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
