Michael Kenneth Conner, age 80, passed away on Thursday, March 26th surrounded by love.
He was a man full of life, humor, and connection. He worked as a local DJ, bringing music and joy to others through the radio, weddings, school dances, and countless celebrations. Music remained a meaningful part of who he was throughout his life. He was also proud of his time working in the electronics department at Walmart, where he shared his knowledge and interests with others, and he built his own impressive personal collection of DVDs.
He loved spending time outdoors, often talking to birds, taking walks and runs—whether on his own or alongside his daughter or grandchildren. He had a gift for making people laugh and for making others feel seen, special, and important.
He proudly served in the United States Navy and carried with him many stories and experiences from that time. In his youth, he performed as Ollie Stewart in The Shepherd of the Hills, a role he fondly remembered.
Above all, he loved his family. He was proud to be a father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, and son. In the later stages of Alzheimer’s, he continued to show his warmth through his smile, his hugs, and the quiet ways he connected. He enjoyed listening to Peter, Paul and Mary and spending time shooting baskets with his grandson. Even in his final days, music remained a part of him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother.
He is survived by his two sisters and brother, his four children, thirteen grandchildren, and many other family members, both by blood and by choice.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
