Michael Corcione Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Clark Associates Funeral Home on Nov. 27, 2023.
Michael Corcione died on November 21st, 2023. Michael was born in Albany, NY to Joan (Pleat) and Joseph Corcione and he is the beloved brother of Donna (Corcione) Healy, Lisa (Corcione) French, and Tricia (Corcione) Carlson.
Michael grew up loving and playing many sports. He played on baseball teams, bowling leagues, golf leagues, and softball leagues throughout his life. He found joy in spending evenings and weekends at Mount Kisco Country Club, where he was a loyal member for over 20 years. He was proud of his many golf/sporting tournament accomplishments – always coming home with the biggest smile on his face, regardless of the outcome. He bowled several perfect games (an accomplishment he shares with his late father, Joseph Corcione) and golfed a hole-in-one (an accomplishment he shares with his son, Joe Corcione).
Michael was admired and respected for his incredible work ethic. He started his first job at age 7 as a paperboy in his neighborhood. He worked full-time to put himself through college at Pace University, and later became a Cybersecurity Advisory Board Member for the School of Computer Science. He went onto a diverse career path, where he started as a trader and moved on to become a CCO, then finally landing in Cybersecurity, where he worked as a Partner and Principal for PKF O'Connor Davies, LLP. His current project was building the firm's Cybersecurity practice in the UK.
Michael is the beloved husband of Kristi (Lombardo) Corcione. He is the loving and devoted father of Joe Corcione, Amanda Corcione, and Melissa Corcione. His family was his pride and joy and he always went above and beyond to bring everyone together and make everyone happy. There aren't enough words to describe how much Michael means to his family and how sorely he will be missed.
Michael will be remembered for kind heart, generous nature, and positive energy.
There will be a funeral service at The Church of the Good Shepherd on December 3rd at 1 pm, with a reception at Mount Kisco Country Club to follow.

I was fortunate to have my life intertwined with Mike in the late 90s. We shared a profound connection as college roommates, fraternity brothers, co-workers, and genuine friends.

Mike possessed a natural knack for leadership that inspired everyone around him to elevate their game. His presence alone was a catalyst for personal growth. Our days working side by side in commission sales were marked by constant challenge and friendly competition. I remember racing him to see the daily sales reports every morning so we could razz each other. I attribute much of my success in that role to his unwavering daily encouragement and the spirited rivalry we fostered.

As roommates, I have lots of fond memories - we had too much fun at times. From the shenanigans as fraternity brothers to just staying up all night playing terrible 90s computer games, he kept the laughs coming.

When life took me away from New York, our contact became infrequent, yet I always followed Mike's journey, witnessing his incredible rise in his career as well as the growth of his beautiful family. It was just a few weeks ago that we reconnected, eagerly planning to meet on my next trip to New York. It pains me deeply that this reunion will never come to pass.

His impact on my life remains profound, and I'll forever cherish the memories we created together. Rest in peace, my friend.

I did not know Michael very well, but I know Kristi and taught Joe. Knowing the wonderful Mom Kristi is and the amazing person Joe is told me all I needed to know about their Dad and husband. I know how much Michael was loved by them and how happy he made his family. This is such a tragedy, but it seems from all I have read here that, though it was short, he had a Wonderful Life.

Mike and I met freshman year in college and became roommates for years and best of friends ever since. It's difficult to find the words that can express how thankful and honored I feel to have shared in his friendship and generosity. Mike's friendship is a true gift that I will always keep. We all have unfinished plans with Mike so I will dearly hold onto all of those happy memories.   I know that´s what he would smile and tell me to do.  I miss you my friend. Steve Maresco

We had the privilege of spending a lot of time in London with Mike and Kristi. To know them is to LOVE THEM. We looked sooooo forward to when they were "in town" and planning dinners together to catch up and chat about life and kids and family...business....travel...etc... we talked about anything and everything and conversation with them flowed so naturally. They are our family here in London. Our teenage boys adore them and are deeply saddened by his passing. It was a very special connection that we all had together. Like my grandmother used to say, "you can know the soul of a person by looking into their eyes." Well, Mike had the kindest and warmest eyes that literally twinkled when he smiled. We can honestly say he is one of the most beautiful human we have ever met. My husband said, "Mike was the only friend I had that I could talk to about anything." We will miss you dearly but will cherish our memories together forever.
May you Rest In Peace with the angels. We love you.

My first memory of Michael was a chance meeting in a Somers Elementary School classroom, around 2002, invited by our children for a Father´s Day celebration . I had just joined MKCC, didn´t know many members, but seeing his smiling face while proudly wearing his MKCC logo golf shirt added another layer of welcoming.
Thereafter we played many rounds of golf together (when he couldn´t find a member named "Michael" to play with).
He was extremely proud of his MKCC golf resume´ which helped him get into the Twilight League, but his over zealous gaveling was cause for concern. Lol Michael was not a golf snob and would play with everyone. He gets credit for many improvements at the Club but bringing Comedy Night to MKCC was a great contribution.
He always checked my availability for our annual Whipporwil round. Apart from losing a great golf companion, I will miss him sitting at my end of the Twilight dinner table and will miss him at the dinner-with-the-wives events. God Bless his spirit as well as Kristi, Joe, Amanda and Melissa.

I was fortunate to know Mike when he joined PKF O'Connor Davies. Although we worked in different departments at the Firm, he was always a pleasant and positive presence in the office. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.

I only recently met Mike at the PKF Global Gathering in Portugal last month.
I was immediately impressed with his extensive knowledge of cyber security and his noticeably strong work ethic. He delivered excellent technical presentations and spoke on various expert panel discussion sessions. He was clear, articulate and represented our firm PKFOD so well. I sat next to him at the some of the evening events and we talked about family, sports and his work passion, cyber security. He brought up his desire to build out our firm's cybersecurity service offerings and all his concerns about global cyber risks.
He was passionate and excited about his future.
He will be very much missed.
May he rest in peace.

I first met Michael almost 20 years ago on the first year of Mount Kisco Country Club. My greatest memory of him is the consistency of his good nature and friendship. Whille, I miss him terribly. I am very happy that I had 20 great years with him. Someday he and I will meet again and that will be a wonderful day. Mike Hayes

I met Michael and Kristi over a month ago and spent an entire day exploring and enjoying the vineyards in Portugal. He couldn't stop talking about sports, cybersecurity, Kristi and his family. I could see and feel the love he had had for his wife and children. Although I knew him for a brief moment, his positive outlook on life, caring nature and willingness to lend a helping hand resonated with me. May the angels above take him to heaven so he may rest in peace.

I never actually met Michael, but it is evident by his endearing smile, especially in the presence of his dear wife, Kristi, and wonderful children (who were all my Italian students) that he was an adoring husband and loving father. God bless you , Michael
