Lorraine M. Callanan

Lorraine was born in the Parkchester area of the Bronx to Paul and Gladys Lankes. She graduated in the founding class of Preston High School and earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from Pace University, followed by a Master's in Education from St. John's University.

Following 11 years of religious vocation, Lorraine was married to William Callanan. The majority of her career was focused in education, enriching the lives of many students with her passion and care. Lorraine was a woman of strong faith and was deeply steeped in her church. She loved gardening, flowers, traveling, and had a warm, welcoming nature, always ready to smile, laugh, and enjoy the company of others. She also had a deep love for dogs.

Lorraine is survived by her sons Brian and Thomas (m. Megan) and daughter in-laws Denise and Elizabeth. She was preceded in death by her husband William F. (d. 2007) and son Michael (d.2024) and by her stepsons Stephen (d. 2013) and William E. (d. 1998). She is also survived by her grandchildren Rylie, Kieran, and Brendan; Kyle and William; Meghan, Brian, and Sean (m. Stephanie); and great-grandchildren Stephen and Ruth.

Funeral services will be held at Feeney's Funeral Home in Ridgewood on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, followed by a funeral mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Ridgewood.
