Michael D. Cord, age 62, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025. He was born in Cincinnati on December 9, 1962, to the late James D. and Matilda Cord (nee Gaston).
Michael was preceded in death by his father, James D. Cord, Jr., and mother, Matilda Cord, as well as his sister, Theresa A. Harris. He is survived by his sister, Debra A. Ocho (the late Joseph), his brother, Joseph D. Cord (Connie), and several cherished nieces and nephews: Tamela (Michael) Lucas, Melinda Harris, Mishiree (Cicley) Cord, Christopher (Samantha) Ocho, Jovonna (John) Huha, Ronald (Dotinna) Harris, Jermaine (Shiryl) Harris, Larissa Briscoe, and Melissa (Luke) Lucus, great nieces and nephews: Chance Madaris, Christopher Ocho Jr., Caiden Ocho, Kris Ocho, Keriann Ocho, Charley Lynn Ocho, Jaiden Briscoe, along with a host of other family members and friends who will remember him fondly.
Michael grew up in Mt. Auburn, Ohio, and was known for his strong faith. He served as an usher in his church and was a prayerful man, always keeping those he loved and the Hospice Team that cared for him in his thoughts and prayers. Michael had a remarkable memory and the ability to connect deeply with those around him, which endeared him to many throughout his life.
He spent much of his life in group homes, where he formed lasting friendships with numerous individuals who cherished him. The nurses and staff at Three Rivers Healthcare Center held him in high regard, reflecting the love and respect he garnered from everyone who knew him.
A private service will be held at the convenience of his family.
