Michael Reeves Craig, 63 left this life for his eternal home on Monday, July 29, 2024 in Vivian, Louisiana. Mike was born on April 26, 1961, to birth parents Mike Reeves and Johnette (Craig) McKissick. He grew up in Carthage, Texas and graduated with the Carthage High School class of 1979. He worked in the oilfield for Strong Services for many years before a move to Vivian, Louisiana. In Vivian Mike gained many new friends and employment at the local golf course. He was always a huge Longhorn and Cowboy football fan. He was an avid Carthage Bulldog fan and hardly ever missed listening to their games on the radio.
Mike was preceded in death by adoptive parents Willie D. and Viola Craig, birth parents Mike Reeves and Johnette McKissick, brothers Wille Neal Craig, James Emmett Craig and sister Christy Eardley. Brother-in-laws Jerry Leard, Sonny Harris and sister in laws Judy Craig and Ona Mae Craig.
He is survived by sisters Kate Leard, Jo Harris, Sue Craig, Michelle Reeves Brazzil and brothers Billy Craig and Rodney Reeves as well as brother-in-law James Eardley, niece Jennifer (Matt) Davis and great niece Mackensie Davis. Special friend Lori Fuller, who cared for Mike like no other also survives him.
A visitation will be held Saturday, August 3 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Hawthorn Funeral Home in Carthage, Texas for family and friends to celebrate the life of Michael Reeves Craig. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Hawthorn Funeral Home.
