Ms. Nish Watkins

Funeral services for Nish Watkins, 50, of Carthage, Texas will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2025, at Still Waters Cowboy Church with Mr. Kyle Keeling officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home. Vanisha Renee "Nish" Watkins was born June 16, 1975, in Tyler, Texas. She passed this life July 26, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. Nish was one of three children born to the marriage of Doris Annette Watkins and Lucky Watkins. She was raised and schooled in Carthage, Texas graduating with the Bulldog class of 1993. She graduated from Panola College where she studied Cosmetology and Emergency Medical Technologies. Nish spent her career as a beautician. She loved her family, time with kids and grandkids, her twin and following the Carthage Bulldogs and Dallas Cowboys as their biggest fan. She is preceded in death by her parents. Nish is survived by her loving children, Mishael Gillispe and Dylan Clark, Colton Gillispie and fiancé Madison Tarjick-Weems, Tristian Boniol and fiancé Dinah Humphrey; twin brother, Vance Watkins; brother, Scott Watkins and wife Vicky; grandchildren, Rider, Emerson, Easton, Tinlee, Cashton, Isabelle; numerous nieces, nephews, special friends, Melissa Poindexter, Tabatha Dickson and JD and Leanne Martin and her beloved dog Tipsey. Serving as pallbearers will be J.D. Martin, Jason Moe Price, R.L. Briggs, Ricky Reeder, Gene Farmer, Justin Hodge, Tristian Boniol, Colton Gillispie and Vance Watkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Aidyn Cariker, Kamdyn Martin, Jamie Scott, Tim Anders, Reggie Allain, Wesley Stutes, Lindy Britton, Billy Anders, Trevor Wedgeworth, Don Knight, Aaron Weaver and Alfred Wenthe. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made directly to Hawthorn Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
