I helped Michael at work with IT and made a trip to the CalTrans Burma facilities where Michael was based.
See Michael's bio he had provided with his work email. He was wonderful, caring, hardworking and had a big heart. What a character.
I tried to get Michael to stop by the District 4 IT office recently and just found out the sad news Friday October 17th that he had passed away. So sad.
My condolences.

My long time friend. I can not believe I'm writing this. I still remember all the fun we had in grade school, especially when you chased me around the -playground pulling my pigtails. Those were such joyful times and I cherish every moment we created together.
Even though we lost touch the last year, you have always been in my thoughts. The bond we shared was special and I am grateful for the years we stayed in contact.
May you rest in peace, you will always have a special place in my heart.
Much love and respect

Mikey, too soon!! I've know Mike since before high school, then thru high school we would crash into each other, wink, and keep on going. In our adult life we came in contact once again, still his funny, joking self, and completely unselfish. His kids were little at the time, but he was so proud of his family. Not knowing, but we both lived about 5 blocks away from each other, in Alameda, on the opposite side of Webster St. I would go to the 7/11 down there and always run into Mike, and without fail we would always say hi to each other. Then we both moved away, years passed, and we found each other on Facebook, where our friendship began again. Candice grown, doing amazing in her fashion profession, and again Mike so proud of her accomplishments. He would always brag about her and show off her designs. Proud Daddy he was. To hear of his sudden death was shocking, like a knife to the heart, and hard to believe it was true. And I again had to ask GOD, why do you always take the best ones so early? Mikey, you were a great friend, and awesome proud father, such a great guy, and you will forever be missed my Pisan! Rest easy my friend. Connie Cozzolino-Arias

My heart hurts to hear this sad news.
Mikey was a lively soul who was so proud of his family. I always enjoyed his beautiful photos he took from the top of San Francisco´s bridges. His personality was big bold and real. Another "farm boy" left too soon. You will be missed by many. RIP Mikey....my deepest condolences to his family and close friends.

It's with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to my friend, Michael Cuoco. It's hard to believe he's gone so suddenly, but the memories of our friendship are still vivid and full of warmth.
Michael and I were buddies since grade school, navigating the halls and playgrounds of Haight School in Alameda, California, back in the '70s. When I think of those years, I immediately smile-they were full of mischief and fun times. We were the kind of friends who always had a laugh to share, and those formative experiences are something I'll cherish forever.
Like a lot of childhood friends, we went our separate ways for high school and eventually lost touch, but thankfully, social media brought us back together. Over the years, we reconnected and had so many great chats and laughs, picking up right where we left off.
It was wonderful to see the man he became-a proud father. Michael always lit up when he spoke of his daughter, and I especially enjoyed seeing how proud he was of her success in the public eye in the world of fashion. As a fellow father, I shared that same pride for my own daughter's achievements, and it was a unique bond we shared.
I'm going to truly miss our conversations and his honest, heartfelt sharing of his life experiences. Michael, I loved our times together. You will be deeply missed.
