Michael "Mike" Ray Davis, age 66 of Pikeville TN passed away May 15, 2025. A devoted son and father, loving partner and cherished grandfather, he lived with heart, humor and a deep love for family, food and fixing anything with a Toyota emblem.
Born to Margaret and Charlie Davis, who survive him, Mike carried his family's legacy with pride and purpose. His parents were a constant presence in his life and he honored them in the way he lived and loved. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ersie and L.V. Davis and Rachael and Pleasant Harris; his sister, Tammy Louise Davis Ferry and his nephew, Steven Lynn Ferry---each of whom he held close in his heart.
Mike's heart belonged to Debbie Hastings, the love of his life and lifelong companion. Their bond was rooted in laughter, loyalty and enduring love. Together, they raised a beautiful family and embraced his role as a father and stepfather with open arms.
He is survived by sons who carry his name, spirit and lessons forward, Jeremy Ray Davis, Michael Aaron Davis and Kevin Hastings, his stepson whom he loved as his own.
Mike was a proud grandfather to Zoey, Bryson, Aspen, Charles, Charlie and Briar. Whether he was teaching them something or cracking a joke, he brought them joy and laughter as Papa Mike or Pa Mike.
A true Southern man, Mike loved living in the mountains, where he found peace, purpose and pride in a simple, hands on life. He especially loved to cook and was known for his skill in preparing any and all meats to absolute perfection. Whether it was a slow-cooked roast, smoked ribs or something sizzling on the grill, his meals brought people together and left a lasting impression.
Under the hood of a Toyota, his hands worked magic---passing down the skill and talents he learned from his father.
Mike also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart and memory.
He was a man who fixed what was broken, fed those who were hungry and loved without reservation. His legacy lives on in the stories we tell, the meals we remember and the love he gave so freely.
A private memorial service will be held on Brockdell mountain, the place he called home with all of his closest friends and family.
