Michael Deckys Obituary
Michael was the loving and proud father of Gabriella and Andrew. He was the cherished son of Janet and the late Alfred Deckys. He was the loving brother of David (Guoying) Deckys and Kathryn (John) Hillebrand, and the proud uncle of Alexandra, John, and Sophia. Michael was the beloved, once-in-a-lifetime partner of Joyce Foiles.
Michael graduated from Indiana University. He built a career in sales and had a lifelong passion for technology and creativity. He enjoyed computer programming and even built video games from scratch. Michael also loved designing home theater systems, bike riding, and watching movies. He had a curious mind and enjoyed learning how things worked and building them himself.
Michael will be remembered for his love of family, his creativity, his resilience, and the many memories he created with those he loved most.
Funeral Friday, March 20, 2026, 9:30 a.m. from Modell Funeral Home, 7710 South Cass Avenue, Darien, to Our Lady of Peace Church for a Mass at 10:00 a.m.
Visitation Thursday, March 19, 2026, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Michael will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
