Michael Emmerson Deigert

Michael Emmerson Deigert, age 60, of Albion passed away at his home on September 30, 2012. He was a long time sufferer of chronic illness. Mike was born on October 7, 1951 in Albion to G. Harvey and Virginia Rose (Groth) Deigert. He was a life long resident of this area and was a graduate of Albion High School. Following his graduation, he attended Kellogg Community College receiving his Associates in Science degree. He had planned on continuing his education, majoring in Biology, but decided instead to devote himself to the family farm. Before Mike became seriously ill, he was an avid sportsman and nature conservationist. Mike was a philanthropist and gave generously to charities and other causes. Mike is survived by his parents, Harvey and Virginia Deigert; sibling, Jon (Nancy OsGood) Deigert of PA, Chan (Jan) Deigert of Homer, Tony Deigert of Battle Creek and Alisa (Jeff Gremore) Deigert of Albion; a nephew and 7 nieces; and seven great nieces and nephews. Mike was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend who will be sorely missed. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home, Marshall, MI.
