Michael L. Dellongo

Michael L. Dellongo, born November 7, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on December 14, 2025 in Oak Lawn, Illinois, with family by his side.
He was the son of George Dellongo and Patricia (Burns) Dellongo, and grew up alongside his four sisters - Margaret Murphy (William Murphy), the late Deborah Genovese, Karen Batzel (Carl Batzel), and Michele Shelton (Henry Shelton). Surrounded by strong personalities who rarely let him get a word in, Michael became a quiet man early in life, someone who chose his words carefully and spoke only when he felt it mattered.
Michael carried that quiet nature into adulthood. He lived life on his own terms. He valued his independence and kept to himself. Those who knew him understood that he faced his struggles privately, in the way that felt right to him, and that he found comfort in simplicity rather than attention.
One of the truest joys of his life was fishing - a love passed down from his father. Some of his most peaceful moments were spent by the water with a rod in hand.
He is survived by his wife, Leslie Dellongo. He is also survived by his daughter, Patricia Spraggins (Kendall Spraggins), and his grandsons, Jayden and Kaysen.
The family would like to thank his cousin, Cindy McCaig, for her steady help over the past year, especially with Michael's appointments and medical care.
A memorial service will be held in the spring, once the weather warms up. We'll share the details when the time gets closer.
