Michael "Mike" Joe DeVoll, a man of simple pleasures, died November 29, 2024 at the age of 73. Mike was born, June 12, 1951 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Claire DeVoll and Frances (Gooley) Varga. Mike graduated from Pennfield High School in 1970. Mike was drafted into the army in 1970 where he served as a cook stateside during the Vietnam War. Mike loved to drive and held several jobs where he delivered products, then was an over the road driver for Schneider National, where he earned the award of driving over a million miles without an incident. Mike retired from Sparrow Hospital as a lab courier. Mike spent the last few years shuttling cars for Hertz. Mike loved all kinds of car racing and John Wayne movies. He was known for his scallop potatoes & ham and bologna spread. Mike volunteered several years at the Potterville Food Bank and also at Sycamore Creek Church. Mike is survived by his son, Stephen DeVoll; granddaughter, Alyssa DeVoll; sister, Betty (Doug) Collins; brother, John (Pam) DeVoll. He was predeceased by both parents and his step father, Joe Varga.
