Michael DiFulco Obituary

Michael John DiFulco entered peacefully into heaven Monday, November 28, 2016, at the age of 91. "Uncle Mickey" as he was referred to by most of his family and friends was a resident of Terrytown, Louisiana and in his later years resided at St. Luke's Nursing Facility in Algiers, Louisiana. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged. "Uncle Mickey" is preceded in death by his parents Virginia Digiovanni DiFulco and Lucas DiFulco. He is survived by his brother and sister; John Luke DiFulco, Sr. (the late Claire) and Lena DiFulco Stabile (the late Frank) and preceded in death by his brothers and sister; Paul DiFulco (Helen), Jerome DiFulco (the late Ester), Carlo DiFulco (the late Audry) and Lukenia DiFulco Smith (the late Daniel). He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. As a resident of Terrytown, he enjoyed working in his yard as well as helping his neighbors in theirs whenever possible. He would walk Terry Parkway daily, going the the grocery store for Lotto tickets. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his family, neighbors and friends, but none more so than his niece by marriage, Kim not only as his good friend but caregiver. The family is very grateful for her compassion and care she gave to "Uncle Mickey." Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Thursday, December 1, 2016, at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Cemetery 1890 Hillary St. New Orleans, LA 70118, to be laid to rest with his Momma and Poppa. Uncle Mickey-----You lived a long, happy and wonderful life. I always think about the great times Paul (my younger brother), you and I had at Grandpa's farm in Independence (J.T. was too young to spend the summers there in Independence) in the 1950's. Miss you---but know that you are now in heaven--and heaven is a little better place now. RIP...

Uncle Mickey you will be missed. I love you. I remember when my dad and I would call you and you would answer the phone and say "Who ya want". Always made me laugh. You have been there for my dad and I when we needed help. Your heart and spirit you had can never be taken away from my memory. I know God has asked you home but know that you will be truly missed.
