Mr. Michael A. Doti

UTICA – Mr. Michael A. Doti, age 70, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.
Born in the Province of Potenza, Italy on November 13, 1952, Michael was the son of the late Paul and Giovina (De Luca) Doti. As a young boy, he came to the United States with his family where they have since resided. Michael attended local schools and graduated from T. R. Proctor High School.
Michael was married on August 31, 1996 to the former Regina C. DeRocco. They shared in a loving and devoted union for nearly 22 years prior to her passing on August 25, 2018.
Michael was a hard worker, beginning his employment at age 17 and working through to his retirement at D'Orio Bakery. Those who knew Michael knew him to be very softspoken and laidback, with a happy disposition. He held a "smooth demeanor" and was easy to be around. Michael loved trips to the casino with his friend Oliver for their "Boys Night," and enjoyed playing kickball with the kids.
His spirituality and religion were very important to Michael. He found peace and strength through gathering with his prayer circles.
Michael is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Maria and Anthony LaPaglia, and Sandra and Frank Calabrese; and his close friends and extended family, Oliver and Maggie Crewe, and their daughter and Michael's goddaughter, Ariane, whom Michael and Regina loved as their own. He will also be remembered by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Michael held close in his heart the memory of his step-son, Allen Bechy, who passed away on July 17, 2011.
