Michael James Dugas

The family of Michael James Dugas, announces his passing on December 23, 2025. Born on October 18, 1956, in Jennings, Louisiana, Mike was known for his loving spirit and love for his family.

In his earlier years, Mike dedicated many years to his career as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. Though he faced life's challenges, Mike always kept a steadfast focus on his loved ones and took pride in providing for them. He had a special love for the open road, often enjoying the simple pleasure of getting into his truck, taking long rides, and soaking in the peace and beauty of the Louisiana landscape. These moments brought him joy and provided a sense of tranquility that we will remember fondly.

Michael is survived by his loving daughters, Michelle (Aly) Dugas, Holli Dugas, and Mikalyn (Jesse) Simien; his sister, Shirleen Broussard; and two grandchildren, Kaymen Dugas and Cameron Simien.

A celebration of Mike's life will be announced at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

In memory of Michael, may we find peace in the beautiful scenes he cherished and remember the love he imparted to everyone around him. We will miss him dearly.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Dugas and Flavia Dugas; his sister, Doris Melancon; brothers, Rufus Dugas, Jr. and Emery Dugas; a beloved grandchild, Kaylee Dugas.
