Robert L. Fontenot

Church Point, LA: Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Robert Lee Fontenot, 75. Mr. Fontenot, a native of Jennings, LA and long-time resident of Church Point, died Thursday morning, February 26, at his residence. Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home from 10:00 AM Tuesday until the time of Services. A Rosary will be recited by The K of C Council at 1:30 PM. Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of the Church, will conduct the Services; Interment will be at a later date.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Delores Thibodeaux Fontenot; his daughters, Kimberly Schellert and husband Patrick of Lawrenceville, GA, Casey Fontenot of Denham Springs, LA and Kelli Herban and husband Andrew of Lewisburg, LA; his grandchildren: Kamryn Fontenot, Peyton Schellert and Mason, Jackson, Dawson and Greyson Herban; his sisters, Evelyn "Nina" Granger of Jennings, Margie Reed of Basile, LA and Gail Sonnier of Tee Mamou, LA; his brothers, Edward "Jimmy" Fontenot and wife Debra of Jennings and Harold Fontenot and wife Debbie of Maurice, LA and cherished friends Virgil, Tammy and Chloe Breaux. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Vernice Daigle Fontenot; a daughter, Julie Fontenot; a brother, Jerry Lynn Fontenot; a sister, Patricia Duplechin; a sister-in-law, Nevelle Bourque and his brothers-in-law: Malcolm and Donald "Chopper" Thibodeaux, Adam Duplechin, Donald Reed, Gerald Granger and Danny Sonnier.

A truck driver for Fleming Foods for a number of years; Mr. Fontenot was a hard-working, devout and devoted husband, father, grandfather and sibling. A tireless volunteer, he was a member of the CPVFD, a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a long-time usher at OLSH Church. Truly loved, he will be missed by his extended family and all who knew him.
