Michael Leo Edwards

Michael Leo Edwards, 66, of Michigan Center, MI, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025, at the University of Michigan Hospital. Michael's family and friends will gather from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Grace Church, 2692 N. Dettman Rd, Jackson, MI. His funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Church. Pastor Dr. James Walling will officiate. The family invites you to join them for a gathering in remembrance of Michael after the service at the Michigan Center High School cafeteria from 1:00p.m. – 3:00 P.M. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date at Roseland Memorial Gardens.
He was born on February 18, 1959, in Hawthorne, CA, to Charles and Jessie (Winningham) Edwards. Michael married the love of his life, Lorrie Ann Stoican, on August 23, 1980, in Michigan Center, MI, at the Christ Lutheran Church. He graduated from Michigan Center High School. Michael enjoyed playing golf and pool, where he played on leagues. He worked as a Quality Manager for the majority of his career, with the past 10 years working at Great Lakes Industries. He worked on the school board in Michigan Center for over 19 years and was the president of the youth baseball and softball teams for many years. Michael also had a secret love of dancing. He was a handy man, who could fix anything, including cars, which he loved working on. Michael took these handy man skills to his community, where he would help anyone who asked. His community was very important to him, where everyone knew him. He was a devoted father to his children and grandchildren. Michael loved playing video games with his children, where they would have a friendly, fun competition to see who would win. He helped his children in sports while growing up; practicing with them, giving them helpful tips and just being a great support. Michael was also a devoted husband to his wife of 45 years. He loved Beau, his boxer, who he spoiled with pup cups all the time. Michael attended Grace Church. He will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father and grandfather, who's devotion to his community was like no other. Michael will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Michael will be missed by his wife, Lorrie Edwards; his children, Ashley Edwards, Michael V. Edwards, Carrie Edwards and Steven (Lauren) Edwards; his mother, Jessie Edwards; his siblings, Carla (Don) Barrington, Tonya Browning and Tony (Anna) Edwards; his grandchildren, Kali Bancroft, Braxton Bancroft, Violet Edwards, Gwendolyn Edwards, Augustus Edwards and Wolfgang Edwards; and many treasured cousins and extended family. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Edwards; his grandparents, Thayer and Mary Edwards and Leo and Pauline Winningham; and many beloved aunts and uncles.
