Michael Wayne Edwards

Michael Wayne "Skeebo" Edwards, age 75, of Concord, North Carolina, passed away on September 19, 2025.

Michael was born on October 1, 1949, in Concord, North Carolina, to the late Lurean Gamble Edwards and Samuel Dubois. In 1971, he married the love of his life, Sylvia Stevenson Edwards, and together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and faith.

Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. In his earlier years, he was employed with the City of Concord and Sundrop Bottling Company. Outside of work, he enjoyed life to the fullest-attending football games, listening to R&B soul music, watching Gunsmoke, sci-fi shows, taking on odd jobs, and walking through the neighborhood to catch up with friends.

Micheal is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sylvia Edwards; his son, Rodney Edwards (Angie) of Kernersville, NC; his cherished grandchildren, Kayla, and Kourtney of Shallotte, NC; Tre, and Miranda of Kernersville, NC; and his sisters, Connie Bost of Concord, NC; Brenda Anthony (Ronnie) of Kannapolis, NC; and Glenda Gamble of Kannapolis, NC; He was preceded in death by his brother, Elton "Fish Cat" Douglas, and his nephew, Stanley Bost. He will also be remembered with love by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of Michael's life will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2026, at Lamb's Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 12:00 P.M., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Rutherford Memorial Park in Concord. Lamb Funeral Home Inc. will be serving the family.
