Michael R. Edwards

Michael Renard Edwards was the eldest son of
his three brothers and one stepsister. He was a self-made
handyman and laborer who enjoyed working for and with
others until a complete job was finished with satisfaction.
Michael was an avid Auburn Tiger football fan, loving
and bragging on his War Eagles. He loved his Dolomite
community where he was born and raised and given the
nickname "APPLE."
Michael was educated in the Birmingham City school system
where he attended Wenonah High School.
Our beloved Michael made his transition with the Lord
and Savior on December 2, 2025 at his home in Dolomite.
Family members who are left to celebrate his life and cherish
his memories: His mother, Iwana Faye Abner Edwards
(Father) Ralph Rogers both of Birmingham; brothers,
Jackie Edwards, Kevin Edwards, and Philanderus "P J"
Edwards, all of Birmingham; and one stepsister, Jennifer
Gaston, also of Birmingham. Michael was preceded in
death by his (Dad) Jackie Levon Edwards (Shoe); aunts,
Lula Mae Brown Abner and Earnestine Abner Hurst, both
of Birmingham; Patricia Abner (Detroit, Michigan), Sandra
J Odom, (Decatur Georgia), Deloria F. (Hubert) Magloire,
(Hueytown, Alabama), Veronica Diane German, (Bessemer,
Alabama); uncles, Nathaniel Abner, (Detroit, Michigan),
Algrin C. (Marquitta) Edwards, N. David (Enda) Edwards,
both of Birmingham, Alabama; and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, and friends especially from the Dolomite
community.
