Michael Ray Elder

Michael Ray Elder, 68, of Lynchburg, VA, died Monday, May 13, 2024.

 Mike was born on August 14,1955 in Lynchburg, VA.  He was a long time employee of Candler Oil Company and loved to fix anything.  He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and the Moose Lodge 1727.

 Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife Lisa Elder, mother Betty Mawyer, daughter Kim Royal (Tony), brothers Bobby Elder (Lynne), Gary Elder (Stephanie), Aunt Dolly Sue Brooks, Brother in Law Billy Bruffy (Charlene), Sister in Law Debbie Creasey, three grandchildren, Krislin, Kevin, and Kinsley, four great grandchildren, Aamilah, Alina, Zayden, and Everleigh, special friends Donna and Jim Holden, and Teresa and Bill Hunter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  He will also be missed dearly by his four beloved fur babies Lola Marie, Layla Mae, Merle Haggard, and Peaches Marie.

 Mike was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Martin and Irene Jones, Uncle Don Jones, and step father Elmo Mawyer.

 A memorial service will be held at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, on Thursday May 16, 2024 at 4:00pm with visitation one hour prior.
