Michael Thomas Esterling

Michael Thomas Esterling, age 54, of Middletown, Delaware, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, surrounded by family after a short hospital visit while waiting for an organ transplant.
Michael was born in Wilmington, Delaware. He spent most of his work life as an independent contractor in Information Technology. Michael did a lot of work with the Police Athletic Association (PAL) and other small businesses throughout New Castle County. At home Michael was a handyman and enjoyed fixing things. In his free time, Michael loved boating, listening to country music, relaxing in his hot tub and spending time with his friends and family.
Michael is survived by his three children, daughter Riley A. Singer (Zach), son Jacob T. Esterling, daughter Carley E. Esterling (Makhi) and grandson Rhys Singer. He is also survived by his parents, William F. and Carolyn A. Esterling; brother, Bill Esterling (Monica); sister, Pamela A. Patone, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends whom he loved dearly.
A visitation for Michael will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Rd. Wilmington, DE 19808, where friends and family may call from 10 A.M-12 P.M., with a Celebration of Life following at 12 P.M. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
