Michael Estrada, 65, of Mesa, AZ, sadly passed away on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024, at Banner University Medical Center with his wife Tammy Truelove Estrada by his side.
He was born in Tempe, AZ on August 22, 1958. Mike was a born and raised Arizonian, graduated from Mesa High. He was employed by IBM for over 47 years and served in various Federal Client Technical IT Sales roles.
Mike was loved by everyone that met him. His smile was infectious. His friendships were beyond loyal. His love for his boys, grandchildren and wife could be seen in every interaction with them. He truly felt blessed in life.
Mike never turned down an opportunity to sing or play guitar. Playing was in his soul. He had been in bands going back to his teenage years and played in several church bands. He played at a few places in town regularly. He even proposed to Tammy by playing/singing to her.
Golf was another passion of his that he took up later in life. He was looking forward to teaching his youngest grandson how to golf. He golfed around the world with his buddies and loved that his wife golfed and could be by his side golfing.
His retirement wish was to find a beach/golf area where he could be a golf ranger during the day and play guitar in a pub at night.
Mike is survived by his mother, Amelia (Damaseno) Ortega; his wife, Tammy Truelove Estrada; his children Michael Ray Estrada and William Gale (Jaimie) Estrada; his grandchildren Cecilia (Weston) DuHamel, Michael J. (Athena) Estrada, Jacob Estrada, Gabriel Estrada, William Estrada, Zooey Estrada, Oliver Estrada; 1 great grandchild and 1 step grandchild; siblings Sylvia (Larry) Weig, Fred (Laurel) Estrada, Rick Estrada, Laura Estrada.

My condolences to his wife and family. Mike and I played together in a band by the name of Vitamin P. I loved his guitar work and personality. Such an easy going fun guy to be around. We didn´t keep in touch over the years but my heart is heavy over his passing. I will miss him just the same.

I´d like to send my sympathy to Bobbi his ex wife.

May God´s comforting hand be upon you all.

I worked with Mike at IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY, was in a band with him, and was part of the extended family while he lived in Highland. Even though we both left the Mid-Hudson Valley 30 years ago, we have stayed in touch.

Going to miss you my friend. I'm somewhat sad that you didn't get to see Steve Morse and the Dregs once last time, since they are touring this year.
