An avid lover of model railroading, travel, 49ers, his family & community. The yard full of train layouts is in direct proportion to his love of model railroading. Always curious about the world, he & his loving wife Frances went on 41 cruises & other travel adventures sampling culture & food alike.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Frances Evans, 3 children, 6 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren.
He coached little league, served on the school board, ministered at Sacred Heart Church & encouraged everyone to reach for their highest potential. A committed community leader he was reared in Redding and returned to the area to raise his family. An ordained Catholic Minister, Deacon Mike Evans saw God in ministry, service to community & people helping other people. He ministered weddings, funerals, baptisms (his favorite) as part of Sacred Heart Church in Anderson. He was influential in the initiation of 3 non profits, ACCA (Anderson Cottonwood Christian Assistance) an interfaith group providing food & other assistance, Faith Works which helps house veterans & others, & Catholic Social Services which provides counseling for 5 counties of the North State.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Anderson April 15th, 10am In lieu of flowers please make donations to Faith Works https://www.faith-works.cc/ or Anderson-Cottonwood Christian Assistance
