Michael FERRANTE Obituary

Age 75

Surrounded by his loving family, Mike sadly passed away on March 11, 2025. Michael Armand Ferrante was born February 13, 1950, and was the son of Lawrence and Angelina (Montano) Ferrante. Mike graduated from Gonzaga Prep with great friends he would have his entire life. He owned and operated Ideal Floors Inc., until his retirement. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, by his cherished Golden Retrievers Bubba and Dude, and many of his great friends. Mike was deeply loved by his surviving family members: his wife of over 45 years, Saimecra; his children, Monica (Brian) Carney, Michael Ferrante, Brandon (Maria) Ferrante; and his dearly loved grandchildren, Dominick, Devinn, Erin, Patrick, Ava, Enzo, and Giulia. Mike is also survived by his brother, Jack (Char) Ferrante, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mike lived a life he fully enjoyed and loved. He dearly loved his family and his friends. Mike was known to be hard-working, creative, and inventive ("Mike-Gyver"), quick-witted, with the greatest sense of humor and a perpetual optimist – widely respected by all who knew him. He sacrificed his body while perfecting his crafts, working hard for over 50 years to provide for his family. Mike was the "King of Summer" with fishing poles in the boat, the boat in the lake, and the fish in the net! Summer was Mike's favorite time of year and Mike and Saimecra enjoyed spending as much time as possible at their beloved lake cabin. Over the years they spent countless hours together at home cooking and sharing traditional family Italian dishes with their family and friends. In Mike's retirement years he proudly began designing and finishing beautiful live edge furniture in his shop for his family and for his friends.

At Mike's request, no formal funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please grab a beer (preferably Pacifico or Fosters) or some quality Italian food and a nice bottle of red wine and send Mike off with a "salute" to celebrate his life and irreplaceable, essential positive impact he had on so many in his family and community.

Great man and a talented craftsman. He became a neighbor as we moved into a development next to his home. I also had Monika and Brandon as students at Ferris High School. Great family and may he rest in peace.

Michael when he was young, and his family lived next door to my Grandmother on East Pacific. I'm the same age as Michael and I remember visiting with him and his brother Jack when I would be at my Grandmother's house. Nice people. Sorry for your loss

David and wife of 50 years

My close friend Bill Griffith called me to inform me of Mikes passing. A terrible shock. Mike and I had a lot of good times in the past. I left Spokane 50 years ago but I still consider Bill and Mike dear close friends. People whom I could TRUST. That is becoming rare. Mike had the ability to employ himself and rely only on himself. That is also rare. I hope his family recovers as much as possible soon. See you soon Mike. David P. Jukich RN BSN RRT. ( in case anyone wonders what I did with my life)
