WYNANTSKILL - Michael N. Fields, 91, went home with the Lord, on Monday, July 14, 2025.
Michael proudly served in the United States Army. He worked as an ultrasonic technician for Allegheny Ludlum Specialty Steel for 44 years. Michael was an avid deer and turkey hunter, he was a member of Bailey Mountain Fish and Game club, and he was a N.Y.S. certified hunter and bow-hunter training instructor for over 30 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lois, of 66 years; his children, Lori (Kurt) Matis and Lynn (Dan) Heald of North Dakota; four grandchildren, Karissa and Jenessa Matis and Cassandra and Danny Heald; sisters, Catherine Merchant and the late MaryAnn Bristol; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bailey Mountain Fish and Game, 531 Snyders Lake Road, Wynantskill, N.Y. 12198, or to the Rensselaer County Conservation Alliance, P.O. Box 179, West Sand Lake, N.Y. 12196, in Michael's memory.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 3 to 4 p.m., at the Immanuel Church, 274 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, N.Y. 12144, with a Memorial Service, from 4 to 5 p.m. There will be light refreshments for family and friends from 5 to 6 p.m., following services. The graveside service will held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at 1:15 pm on Tuesday July 22, 2025, all are invited.
