Michael Lorenzo Flores was born on February 1, 1990, in Hinsdale to Suzanne (nee Molina) and Michael Lorenzo Flores, and grew up in Downers Grove surrounded by family and friends who loved him dearly. Michael is survived by his loving parents, Suzanne and Michael Lorenzo Flores, his cherished daughter, Luna Mae Flores, and her mother Breanna Marie McGee. He also leaves behind his sister, Desirae Michele Flores; his brothers Victor Alexis Vieyra and Alberto Jose Vieyra; and his nephews Antonio Jose Vieyra and Joseph Mariano Vieyra as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded to heaven by his grandparents Pedro G. Molina, Josefina R. Molina and Maria Flores.
Though quiet at times, he had a remarkable way of connecting with people. He got along with everyone, made friends quickly, and carried a "baby-face charm" that drew people in and made him deeply loved. Family naturally gravitated toward him, drawn to his easygoing spirit, kindness, and goofiness. From an early age, it was clear he had a gift for bringing joy to others simply by being himself.
Michael attended Hillcrest Elementary, O'Neill Middle School, and graduated from Downers Grove South High School, where he formed lifelong friendships. He remained close with many of his childhood friends, celebrating milestones together, even standing alongside them in their weddings. He went on to study at the College of DuPage, where he embraced his growing passion for EDM and Dubstep music, interests that brought him into another circle of close friends who shared his love for music.
In March 2020, Michael welcomed the greatest joy of his life, his daughter, Luna Mae Flores. Becoming a father transformed him. Instantly protective, loving, and devoted, he treated Luna as his princess and made her the center of his world. She lit up his life in ways words cannot capture. Even on the hardest days, all it took was Luna's smile to bring Michael peace and happiness.
Michael lived a life full of love, laughter, and generosity. A dedicated worker in the manufacturing industry, he was equally devoted to spending time with those he loved. Whether it was enjoying meals at his favorite Downers Grove restaurants with his parents and siblings, attending festivals and shows, DJing, or sharing jokes and memes to make people laugh, Michael always found ways to spread joy. He rekindled a nostalgic passion for collecting Pokémon cards, a hobby that reminded him of his childhood and brought him excitement to share with others. Michael also had a deep love for dogs, his own, Nova, and his family dogs Titan and Hilo, who were constant companions and sources of comfort. To him, friends were never "just friends", they were an extension of family, and he welcomed them into birthdays, holidays, and everyday moments. He will always be remembered for his infectious laugh, his loyalty, and the way he was there whenever someone needed him.
Michael's life, though tragically cut short, was filled with purpose, love, and moments that touched everyone he met. Whether you knew him as Bubble Boy, Mikey, or Flo, his love and laughter will forever live on in all of us. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten by those blessed to know him.
