Michael Floyd

MICHAEL FLOYD, 74, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 with his devoted wife by his side.

He was a semi-retired Industrial Equipment salesman and attended Southeast Christian Church.

Michael served proudly as a Sergeant in the US Army from 1971 – 1977. He was a member of the local hot rod club and an avid hot rod enthusiast; a member of Derby City Mustang Club; and loved his time with the Saturday Breakfast Club. He was a former J-town Little League baseball and football coach and was the Trinity High School baseball team's biggest fan.

But most of all he loved his family and was loved by everybody. He had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. He was described by his family as "The Best Man Ever".

Preceding him in death were his parents, Arthur and Mary Emma (Nichols) Floyd.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 53 years, Peggy Floyd; his son, Steven Floyd (Carrie); daughter, Jennifer Floyd Gray (Craig); grandchildren, Katelyn Floyd , Haley Gray, Mackenzie Floyd and Zachary Floyd; his brothers, Arthur Wayne Floyd (Freeda) and John Floyd; cousins who were like brothers to him; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

Visitation will be from 1 -8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 and after 10 am on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home – Jeffersontown, 10600 Taylorsville Road.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Mt. Washington, KY.

Memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
