EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Michael “Mike” Wade Fruge announces his passing on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center at the age of 66. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Pastor Andrew Bates officiating.
Michael, affectionately known as “Mike” by all, had a love for driving. From navigating the open roads in 18-wheelers to riding in hot rods and enjoying adventures on boats, UTVs, and ATVs, Mike had an undeniable love for anything with an engine. His knowledge and skill in fixing these machines were matched only by his adventurous spirit. Mike also had a deep love for his family, and he cherished moments spent with them. He also held a special place in his heart for his extended trucking family, understanding deeply the camaraderie that comes from sharing such a passion. Mike had a wonderful gift for bringing smiles to faces and laughter to hearts. His warmth and kindness created lasting memories that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
Mike will be missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife of thirteen years, Lisa Charlie Fruge of Eunice; his children, Jodie Fruge Norwood, Michael Brian Fruge, Kimberly Fruge, Dustin Deville and wife, Sharon of Eunice, and his bonus daughter, Faith Stelly; his grandchildren, Caleb and Emily Norwood, Collin Fruge, Trey, Kylie, and Kayden Trout, Jackson Fruge, Briley Deville, and Ruby Jean Deville; as well as his best friend and brother in life, Louis Leger; and extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wade and Evelyn Courville Fruge and Godparents, Suelly and Iris LeDoux whom he lovingly called “Yee and Yis.”
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 10:00 am until time of services.
