Marilyn Agnes Broussard Frugé was born in Lafayette, Louisiana on April 28, 1959, to the late Norman Peter Broussard and Mary Agnes Derouen Broussard, and was a 1977 graduate of Jeanerette Senior High. She then embarked on a path that would lead her to earn an associate's degree in American Sign Language from Delgado Community College. This educational journey enriched her life and allowed her to connect with a many people.

A long-time member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Jeanerette, Marilyn found solace and strength in her faith, which guided her through life's many joys and challenges.

Marilyn was an incredible baker, known for her delectable treats that brought smiles to all. She was also an avid crocheter, often creating beautiful handmade gifts infused with love and care. Traveling was another passion of hers, with a special admiration for overseas adventures. Among her journeys, Nigeria, Nicaragua, and Venezuela held particularly special places in her heart, capturing her fascination and love for diverse cultures.

Above all, Marilyn was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. Her family was her greatest treasure; she often spoke lovingly about her six grandchildren, lighting up whenever she shared stories or showed pictures of them.

Mrs. Frugé is survived by her sons, Gerald P. Frugé, Jr. (Maria) and Lawrence Frugé (Melinda); grandchildren, Lucas Frugé, Levi Frugé, Liana Frugé, Wyatt Frugé, Scarlett Frugé, and Christian Frugé; sisters, Myron Olivier and Darlene Ardoin (Clement); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 43 years, Gerald P. Frugé, Sr.; and brothers, Nathaniel Broussard, Peter Broussard, Seward Broussard, and Gregory Brousard.

Pallbearers are Gerald Frugé, Jr., Lawrence Frugé, Erik Lundberg, Ron Thibodeaux, Daniel Ellis II, and Wayne Frugé, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers are grandsons, Lucas Frugé, Wyatt Frugé, Levi Frugé, and Christian Frugé.

Marilyn’s kind and nurturing spirit will remain in our hearts. May she rest in peace.
