It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Dale Fruge, who left us on September 27, 2025, just days after celebrating his 83rd birthday. Born on September 21, 1942, in Eunice, LA, John spent his life surrounded by family and friends, making memories and sharing laughter in his hometown of Iowa, LA.
John was a dedicated truck driver, navigating the roads with the same passion he brought to everything he did. His sense of adventure was matched only by his love for poker, bingo, and dancing, where he often let loose to the sweet sounds of French music, which he adored. John also proudly served in the National Guard, embodying the values of service and commitment.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Mary Fruge, and his cherished children: daughter Sharon Hinton (Glynn), sons Mitch Fruge (Angie) and Chris Fruge (Holly). John's legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren Brittany (Pete), Dustin (Jodi), Emily, Saige (Hadley), Chloe (Trey), and seven great grandchildren who will forever hold him in their hearts. John is also survived by his brothers, Terry and Clifton Fruge, who joined him in many family gatherings filled with warmth and joy.
Family and friends are invited to honor John's life at Johnson Funeral Home in Iowa. There will be a public viewing scheduled for September 30, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 5:30 PM, a Rosary will be recited at 5:30 PM. The funeral service will take place that evening at 6:00 PM.
We hope you can join us in celebrating the life of a man who brought so much love and laughter to our lives.Rest in peace, John. You will be missed but never forgotten.
