Visitation will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 9:00 AM until funeral service at 11:00 AM at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 1211 Aycock St. Houma, LA. Interment will take place at St. Luke Baptist Church Cemetery, 1098 Bayou Dularge Road, Houma, LA 70360
Michael is survived by his wife: Laura Lee Gaither; Mother, Eva Mae Gaither; four sons: Laine Michael Gaither, Nacio Dillard, Cris Delestre, Jr. and Amon Payne, three daughters: Mykayla Ireon Gaither, Taniece Delestre, Ikeia Beauty, four brothers: Rodney Wright, Daniel Rafiel, Ricky Rafiel, and Kelly Matthews, three sisters: Dana McBride, Delvickeo Picou and Phoebe Louviere, four grandchildren: four godchildren: Rowen Wright, Ashley Gaither, Alvineaka Robinson, and Shaquille Lamark, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his father: Michael Matthews, maternal grandparents: Samuel and Rosemary Gaither, and paternal grandparents: Fellman and Louise Matthews.
