Michael Gardner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A Natural State Funeral Service & Crematory on Jan. 5, 2026.
Michael "Mike" Gardner, 75, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on December 27, 2025.

Mike was born on August 26, 1950, to Eugene and Audra Gardner. He graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1968 and carried his love for his hometown with him throughout his life.

Mike was known and loved for his humor and unforgettable, sometimes crazy antics. Nothing made him happier than making people laugh or seeing a smile on someone's face. He had a gift for finding joy in the simple things and sharing that joy with others. Mike had a generous heart, a quick wit, and a gift for bringing light into a room.

Mike had many things he loved. He was a lifelong fan of anything involving Lucille Ball and could happily spend hours watching her shows. He had a deep appreciation for old classic cars, especially Cadillacs and Mustangs. He adored beautiful glass and porcelain knickknacks, antique furniture, and old clocks that chimed and rang, filling a home with character and history. One of his simple pleasures was enjoying a bowl of ice cream.

Mike was also a devoted animal lover. Throughout his life, he had many "fur kids" whom he adored and treated as family. He especially loved his beloved dog, Rudy, who passed away a couple of years ago and remained forever in Mike's heart.

For most of his life, Mike worked in the upholstery business alongside his partner, Sam, in Mississippi. Together, they took great pride in transforming worn-out furniture into beautiful focal points for people's homes. Mike's craftsmanship, creativity, and pride in his work were evident in every piece he touched.

Mike lived in Mississippi for many years, but as his health began to decline several years ago, he chose to return to North Little Rock to be closer to his family, whom he loved deeply.

Mike is survived by his siblings: Aubrey Gardner (Connie), Burt Gardner (Julie), Kirk Gardner (David Mitchum), and his sister, Rebecca Boeckmann.

He was preceded in death by his longtime partner of 24 years, Samuel Crum; his parents, Audra and Eugene Gardner; his older brother, Butch Gardner; and his half-brother, Jerry Stanley.

Mike will be deeply missed by many and fondly remembered for his laughter, kindness, creativity, and the joy he brought into the lives of those who knew him. Though he is gone, he will never be forgotten.
