Michael Garrett Obituary
Michael was born to the late Robert "Bob" and Linda Garrett of Leachville, Arkansas, where he was raised alongside his five siblings. He spent the majority of his career working in CNC machinery, earning several technical certifications in tool and die. Michael was known for his strong work ethic and skill, always taking pride in his craft.
An avid outdoorsman, Michael loved hunting and fishing, but his greatest passion was drag racing. His love for the sport was undeniable, as he spent most weekends racing or lending a helping hand at George Rays Drag Strip, a place that truly felt like home to him.
Michael loved his family deeply, but his greatest pride and joy was his daughter, Courtney. He was overjoyed at the thought of becoming "Pops" to his first grandchild, eagerly sharing the news with everyone as he anticipated the arrival of baby Sylvie in February.
Michael is now reunited in Heaven with his parents, Robert (Bob) and Linda Garrett, and his brother, Kenneth Garrett.
He is survived by his daughter, Courtney Garrett, and his soon-to-be grandchild, Sylvie; his siblings, Robert "Ratt" Garrett, Kevin Garrett, Richard Garrett and Joy (Greg) Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews: Kenny Garrett, Kasey Shepard, Seth Garrett, Rhonda Garrett, Chasity Garrett, Madison Martin, Kenya Shepard, Kaylee Shepard, Kasen Shepard, Lainey and Lynlee Garrett.
Michael will be remembered for his generous heart, his love of family, and the passion he carried for the things that brought him joy. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the family he loved so dearly.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2025, in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Jamie Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in the Leachville Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Michael Fletcher, Darrin McFall, Tyler Russom, Brian Stevens, Wes Hinson, and Brad Hinson. The Garrett siblings will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive visitors Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Friends may sign the online guest register at www.HowardFuneralService.com
