Michael Lee Gehrke, 67, US Air Force Veteran, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at the Condell Medical Center, he was born August 13, 1958 in Chicago, IL and was the oldest of three born to the union of Lee and Shirley Gehrke, Mike was a supply and logistics supervisor for 18 years serving in Operation Desert Storm & Desert Shield, and most recently working as a Telecommunications Project Manager.

Mike is survived by his wife of 35 years, Chong A. Gehrke of Hainesville, and son; Nathan Gehrke of Hainseville, his father; Lee (Gerry) Gehrke of Naperville, IL, his sister; Dorie (David) Howell of Fond du Lac, WI, and his brother; Jeffrey (Kim Christianson) of Lindenhurst, IL, Special friends, Rick Cogswell, Derek McGrew, and Mike (Cindy) King, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, preceded in death by his mother; Shirley Gehrke, nee: May.

A memorial visitation will be 12 Noon until time of memorial services and military Honors at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at the Symonds Lakes Funeral Home 111 W. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030, For additional information please contact the funeral home at 847-543-1080

To the Gehrke´s Our prayers and thoughts are with you. Mike was a good man and blessed spirit. We worked with Mike at SAC then at Mastec. We enjoyed many a day on the
AT&T project. He will be missed. Nicholas my oldest is headed out on Deployment with the Air Force. He has 26 years of reserve duty. He sends his love and prayers.
